Crisis in Haiti

Dear Friends,

Since Tuesday January 12, 2010 we have all been watching with shock, grief, and disbelief the tragedies surrounding the Haitian earthquakes unfold on our television screens.

For every story of hope, there are hundreds of devastation, loss of life, despair, and helplessness.

As a Haitian American I am humbled to see the level of care, concern, and support from the International Community, and everyone around me. But I am also overwhelmed to see how much is needed, and what a tremendous responsibility lays ahead of us as fellow human beings to help the Haitian people and Haiti rise from the rubble.

The Pan-African Association, under the leadership of its board members has established a relief fund in support of Haiti’s earthquake victims, and the rebuilding of Haiti.

We are asking you for your commitment to help Haiti. Your donation at any level will have an impact. The Pan-African Association is a 501c3 non-profit organization and your contributions are tax deductible. To learn more about our Mission and Programs, please visit our website at www.panafricanassociation.org.

Please make your checks payable to the Pan-African Association, and write “Haiti Support” on the memo line. Checks can be mailed to our address at Pan-African Association, 6163 N. Broadway, Chicago, IL 60660.

On behalf of my fellow Haitian countrymen, as well as the board and staff of the Pan-African Association I thank you in advance for your generosity. Together we will make a difference and bring a ray of light into a very dark moment of Haiti’s history.

Yours Sincerely,
A.Patrick Augustin
Executive Director
