Workforce Development Team Exceeds Expectations

With an enduring optimism and sense of purpose, the Workforce Development team approached this past fiscal year ready for the challenges ahead. They overcame all obstacles and exceed their yearly goals; assisting over 100 refugees find employment in the Chicago area.

Every program at PAA relies heavily on building and maintaining strong relationships with the community at-large, and the success of the Workforce Development program is no exception. One employer for which we are particularly grateful is Franklin Park-based Resource Employment Solutions, which, to date, has facilitated the hiring of 35 PAA clients. Tanya Sarovich, Recruiter at Resource Employment, places meeting our clients’ needs among her top priorities, and in return, she gleans a sense of enjoyment from the whole process:

"Working with the refugees has been so lovely; they make our job at Reynolds so much more enjoyable!
Refugee clients from Pan-African Association have been nothing but wonderful to us and we are that
much more thankful in helping them start a life here in America. They are hard-working individuals and
their drive to succeed has opened our eyes and our perspective for the workforce here. We are very
thankful to be working with them and we look forward to the future with Pan-African Association!"
Ms. Sarovich’s words reveal why the Workforce Development team works so tirelessly to overcome the considerable obstacles that face it. PAA’s clients are hard-working individuals who are highly motivated to achieve success in America. It is up to us to match their efforts and help them find these opportunities that will enable them to become independent and self-sufficient.
